Tooth whitening is a bleaching process that lightens discoloration and removes stains from the enamel of the teeth. There are two methods of tooth whitening done in this office. The first is an at-home bleach system in which an impression of your teeth is taken. From this impression, a custom night guard is made to fit your teeth. You then put a small amount of a bleaching gel in the mouthguard and wear it overnight. This process takes about 10-14 days.
The second method being a process where we bleach your teeth in the dental chair and within 1 hour you walk away with a gleaming smile
Yes, absolutely. We perform comprehensive pediatric care on children of all ages. The ADA (American Dental Association) recommends children first see the dentist at the age of 2 because this is around the stage at which a child probably has acquired a full complement of deciduous teeth (baby teeth).
A crown is a tooth-like restoration that covers a tooth to its normal shape and size.
A crown is used for a number of reasons:
- To restore a fractured tooth
- To protect weak teeth from fracturing (it is possible that these teeth may have had root canal treatment previously)
- For aesthetic reasons (badly shaped or discolored teeth or to fill a space between teeth)
- To support a large deep filling when there isn’t enough tooth structure remaining
- To prevent sensitivity to the underlying tooth structure
Crowns are made from a number of materials. A crown may be made out of gold, a silver colored metal, white porcelain or ceramic, acrylic or composite, or a combination of these materials. We will help you decide which material is best for you depending on tooth location, the color or shade of the tooth, the function of the tooth and how much tooth shows when you smile.
An impression is made to provide an exact model of the prepared tooth. A dental laboratory technician then makes the crown from the model. Temporary crowns are placed while the permanent crown is being made. When the permanent crown is ready, the dentist puts it in and makes any necessary adjustments. The crown is then cemented in place.
When the procedure is complete, the dentist will have created a crown that looks like a natural tooth. The dentist will take into account color, occlusion (or bite), shape and length of your teeth when creating the crown.

The doctor will then examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer and examine the X-rays. The dentist will review your dental status and discuss any necessary treatment plans with you. All options for treatment will be discussed at this time.
The ADA (American Dental Association) recommends patients visit the dentist at least every six months for a checkup and cleaning.
